Eco Elf Stand Up Comedy

Michael McClure is Eco Elf. He is an environmentalist, father, surfer, author, actor, comedian, and he is my husband. He wrote and performed his first stand up comedy routine at Tantra Theater this weekend. Even though his environmentally themed material was not tested on animals, and ranting about his over-controlling wife, I couldn't be more proud. His work is designed to educate, inspire and ofcourse entertain. People were falling out of their chairs laughing, and most the email feedback I got after the show was that he was the highlight. Initally, I wasn't sure how environmental comedy fit into tantra theater, and I was afraid people were going to think that I just put him in the show because I am sleeping with him. But after much mediation, I feel that environmentalism is a newest fronteer for tantrikas. Just ask Annie Sprinkle about her new passion for eco-sexual art. Tantra is not just about worshiping our own bodies as sacred, but our collective body...mamma earth. His vision is to take this routine out into the world as a creative form of environmental activism. He will be performing at green conferences and festivals. He plans to develop a website www.ecoelf.com Feel free to contact him if you have any further questions or comments about his work.

New Cover for Free Love Book

Here is a Mock-up of my new book entitled Free Love: Can You Really Afford it? The homework this week for everyone enrolled in my "How to Write a book in 90 days" is to mock-up a cover of their new book and put it on their alter, bookshelf or website. So here it is, with muses on the cover and all. I love this classic dipiction of pan called Nymphs and Satyr (Nymphes et Satires) oil on canvas, created by artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau in 1873. It probably won't make it to the final cover, but it is certainly a conversation starter.
As for the subject of the book: If I got paid for every time someon asked me, How do you make it work? I would be rich...so I'm attempting to answer that question, and more in my latest manuscript, the working subtitle is: An Intimate Perspective on How to Make Polyamory work in a community based on Sexual Freedom &Tantra.
You may remember I was working on a similar project with Reid Mihalko last year, and we've created a weekend workshop with the same title, but we took a major detour and decided to co-create our DVD instead. Thus this project has been dormant for a while, but my writing class has been kicking my ass lately, so I'm re-inspired to give it another go.  I'm also starting to form a list of people who may be interested in contributing to the book by scheduling interviews. My essential focus is: How do you make it work?
I look forward to your feedback.

Ready for another round?

We are a bold group of shape shifting, gender bending, uninhibited storytellers. Through a shamanic journey we got in touch with our "inner opposites" and did psycho drama from the shadowy alter egos. We celebrate that within each of us is the capacity for wife-beating, public masterbation, lesbian prostitution, and even drag queen burlesque. This is the fourth round of Tantra theater and after a 90 day journey of escavating our deep personal narratives we will be recording our stories to video and performing a public showcase.
Our showcase is currently scheduled for Sat. May 1st 6pm at the Emerald Temple, but peices of this program may be viewed as early on April 17th at the new Downtown location for monthly Tantra Theater events. If you can't wait to be a part of the action, come to the new location launch party at the Ideal Hotel at 7:30 on Sat. March 20th. Details for all upcoming events can be found at http://www.tantratheater.tv/

Artist's Way Open House (Overflow)

Most people already know the damage caused by the prevalent puritanical messages that reinforce guilt, shame and fear around Sex. Our that mainstream culture is absolutely schizophrenic when it comes to sex. We're told that sex is wrong and dirty but sex is still used on billboards to help sell jeans. Sex is the creative life force. When sex is repressed, our basic humanity is disempowered.
But do you know that we are equally controlled by the social conditioning that says artists are crazy, homo, poor, unreliable...These deep cultural beliefs are subconsciously repressing our creativity. Until we truly question our limiting beliefs about art and artists, we cannot be fully expressed men and women.
The Artist Way is a powerful journey into our deep sub, and superconscious beliefs. After this twelve week process many artists discover their true, dreams, visions and purpose. Kamala Devi has been teaching it annually for the last 8th years. Congratulations to the bold souls who are about to embark on a journey towards self realization. http://www.blisscoach.com/

This group photo was taken after our monthly Tantra Talk with guest speaker Baba Dez. Help us Celebrate Our 1st Birthday with a Location Launch Party

Almost one year ago, we were a group of mostly virgin performers who were nervously preparing our first public showcase in my backyard. We've since traveled to conferences, performed at festivals, maintained a monthly gig, designed our new website: http://www.tantratheater.tv/ that features hours of streaming video, but we're most proud of the deep connections we've made with hundreds of open-minded audience members! This month, we're stepping up to professional venue in a hip downtown hotel where we'll be offering radical, improvisational, experimental tantra theatre events.
You may be wondering: What's the connection between Tantra and Theater? To which I say:
Tantra acknowledges that desire, sex and pleasure are as sacred as prayer, worship, and ritual. While Theater, as a medium, is the culmination of the 64 tantric temple arts (music, song, dance, mimicry...see blog post below) Together, Tantra Theater is a sensual ritual where the community comes together, turns down the lights, breaths together, laughs together and cries together as they focus their attention on provocative entertainment. By transparently dramatizing our personal narratives Tantra Theater players give the audience permission to see their sex as sacred, and their life as art. Our mission is to transmute sexual guilt shame and fear into art healing and liberation.
To celebrate we're going to have:
  •  tatoo art
  •  ice breakers
  •  free door prizes
  •  fun improvisation
  •  audience participation
  • And of course, original performance art by Shawn Roop, Michael, Joy, Ember, Sarah, Janos & More!
Save $5 if you dress up in the color of your favorite chakra. To purchase $10/15 tickets for 7:30 March 20th in Downtown go to: http://locationlaunchparty.eventbrite.com

Sacred Snuggle Party-- March

Here are some of the beautiful, open hearted beings that stayed until after the closing circle for a photo. Despite the pouring rain, the evening was a warm, intimate and REAL experience. I don't have any pictures of our Tantra Theater performance, but with Shawn Roop, Michael and Rita singing songs about Sphincters and Raindrops it was one of our best shows ever. Infact, the performances just keep getting better. We'll be gathering again on Tuesday for a Tantra Talk with Baba Dez as the guest speaker: The cutting edge of sexual shamanism, I hope you'll join us. www.blisscoach.com
